Singularity Song is a meditation on black holes, pairing legendary butoh dancer, Oguri, with the voices one of the world's leading theoretical physicists, Kip Thorne as well as Caltech physicist, and engineer at LIGO, Rana Adhikari.
Oguri performs the human embodiment of the unknown soul of a black hole as a narrator describes the events which occurred billions of years ago and which became apparent to humans through the confirmed detection of gravitational waves in 2015.
Rachel Mason conducted interviews at Caltech in the offices of theoretical physicist Kip Thorne, best known for his groundbreaking work on black holes, gravitational waves and speculations about the possibilities of time travel through wormholes (Kip's work was the foundation for Christopher Noland's Interstellar) Singularity Song is part of a larger project called The Moving Mountain.
